New York has lots of rooftops, but Midtown is especially known for them with the views looking downtown and towards the park. But which ones are actually worth the money and a good night out? Look no further!

When you venture into Midtown, you better be there for a good reason, and I find that a good reason is generally to go to a good rooftop bar.

Sure, there are people everywhere, but you can find some of the most spectacular views in Midtown due to it's… Mid… Location!

Whether you're a tourist here for a week, a local looking for somewhere to visit and feel a little touristy, or if you're showing your friends a good time, here are the top bars as recommended by those who know it best (a mix of me, my friends, and people on the internet)!

Sorted in no particular order:

Elsie Rooftop

Elsie Rooftop offers progressive mixology and an upscale seasonally focused light fare menu, which perfectly compliments every cocktail.

The Roof @ Le Meridien (formerly the Viceroy)

The Roof @ Le MeridienCapping the top of Le Méridien New York, Central Park, Gerber Group’s The Roof is an alluring lounge and outdoor terrace that offers guests a perch to take in the city’s energy and soaring views of Central Park.

Somewhat swanky, and with a great view of the park, that's for sure!

Two more that aren't in Midtown QUITE but…

Broken Shaker

CloudM New York Bowery @ citizenM

Citizen M

It’s no accident our second New York hotel is 21 floors high. As soon as we got to the Bowery, we knew we had to get you the best view over the Lower East Side – and that’s exactly what we did.

This has become our rooftop go-to bar. It's generally not too busy and the drinks are fantastic!
