The Best Things To Do in NYC this Week (June 6, 2018)

Every week I try to visit some new venues and tell you about the best ones. So where has Josh been this week?

Restaurant of the week

Looking for something a little nice and some traditional Italian? I've got you covered!

Porsena (East Village) is a delightful little place! “Porsena is a trattoria in the convivial Italian tradition”. It's pasta done well, and it's very tasty. Of the three dishes I tried, all of them were worth another visit and an order. Recommended!

Bar of the week

Another East Village delight for a quick drink during happy hour.

Local 92 (East Village) is a quick and easy place for a drink and maybe a light snack. The happy hour deals are great and with the front now all open for the summer, it's got a great spot to sit and watch the world go by!

Where to watch the World Cup Live

I've written a whole post about where to watch every single FIFA World Cup Final LIVE in the East Village. Free drinks, raising money for charity, it's got everything!

Insider tips of the week

Every week, at Dinner with New Friends, I ask the group: “Do you have one super tip that you'd love to pass on to everyone in New York City?” Here goes the second round!:

“Without looking up what it is, stop by The Earth Room for a visit. 141 Wooster Street, 2nd floor.
Shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes, but an old-school example of the best of what New York has to offer.” – Ashley A.

Nuyorican Poet's Cafe – great open mic night” – Michael B. (this one is REALLY popular amongst you guys – Josh)

“Try Lui’s Thai food in the EV!” – Franchesca G.

“The best beef pho I've eaten in NYC is from Pasteur Grill and noodles in Chinatown. An enormous bowl of beef combination pho is like $12. Sah good!” – Nicole B.

“The best movie screen for an immersive 3D experience is Imax at Lincoln Square” – Tomasz N.

“Check out mediclub for awesome group meditation once a month” – Gerard P.
