Chicago (IL) – ANZAC Day Commemorative Service
The Australian Consulate-General in Chicago invites you to join us for our annual Anzac Day Commemorative Service, honoring the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of Australian and New Zealand service members past and present.
Following the ceremony, guests are invited to join us at Mojo Coffee at AMA Plaza for flat-whites, Anzac biscuits, and croissants.
Anzac Day, 25 April, is one of Australia’s most important national occasions. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War, landing in Gallipoli in 1915.
ANZAC stands for ‘Australian and New Zealand Army Corps’. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as Anzacs, and the pride they took in that name endures to this day.
