Bringing Australian First Nations Brilliance to NYC

This week, proud Bundjalung woman and founder of Elephant in the Room Consulting, Jenni Walke, is in New York City as a finalist in four categories at the Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

She’s not just representing Australia – she’s showcasing the power, wisdom, and innovation of First Nations leadership on the world stage. Jenni is here to share Indigenous voice, values, and vision with the US and beyond — and it’s a moment worth celebrating.

We’d love for you to be part of this moment and we’re hosting a Weaving Circle this Sunday, November 9 in Central Park.

Aussies and locals in NYC to come along! In Sheep's Meadow (Near Tavern on the Green) – look for us with the pile of raffia and picnic blankets.

  • Learn traditional First Nations weaving
  • Connect with other Aussies in NYC
  • Share stories, have a yarn, and experience a beautiful piece of Australian culture in the heart of Manhattan.

It’s a relaxed, welcoming afternoon to celebrate culture, creativity, and connection and to get behind our amazing First Nations leaders bringing their brilliance to the global stage.
