Two Australian Women Bring Their Stories to Hollywood Fringe 2026

This event is hosted by America Josh’s partners

Some of the best nights out are the ones that catch you off guard, make you laugh, and quietly wreck you in the best way. This June, two fearless Australian artists are doing exactly that in Los Angeles, and I think it is worth getting a group of us along to support them.

Tracey Yarad and Karen Jacobsen are bringing two powerful one-woman shows to the Hollywood Fringe Festival, performing back-to-back at The Little Theater at The Actors Company from June 19 to 28, 2026. Both blend music, storytelling, comedy, and hard-won honesty, and both follow a woman reclaiming her story after life falls apart. Two very different journeys, one venue, and a rare chance to see both in a single trip.

All These Pretty Things — Tracey Yarad

When a 23-year marriage suddenly implodes, Tracey Yarad is left to rebuild herself in real time. Armed with sharp storytelling, virtuosic piano, and original songs, she turns betrayal, identity, and reinvention into something raw and unexpectedly funny. It is part memoir, part concert, part emotional reckoning.

This is not a new or untested show. By the production’s own count it has performed more than 90 times across the UK and Australia, including seasons at Edinburgh Fringe and award-winning runs at Adelaide Fringe, where it reached the 2026 Best Music finals. The reviews have been strong: The Edinburgh Guide called it “blisteringly honest” (five stars), and The List UK described it as “nothing short of breathtaking.”

As Tracey puts it, “I didn’t set out to write a show — I set out to survive something.”

Performance dates:

Ready for What I Came Here For — Karen Jacobsen

You have almost certainly heard Karen Jacobsen’s voice. She is the original Australian voice of Siri, and her USA premiere at Hollywood Fringe goes behind the scenes of how her speaking voice ended up inside devices around the world, alongside the far more personal story behind it.

Part concert, part motivational experience, the show moves through her battles with chronic anxiety, financial disaster, and the relentless pursuit of big dreams. Through original songs and candid storytelling, it lands as a celebration of courage, creativity, and the stubborn act of continuing forward even when you have lost the map.

Performance dates:

  • June 19 at 6:30 PM
  • June 20 at 6:00 PM
  • June 21 at 12:00 PM
  • June 24 at 5:00 PM

How to see both

Both shows run at The Little Theater at The Actors Company as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival, from June 19 to 28, 2026. The schedules are staggered, so on several days you can catch both in one visit. If you are an Australian in LA, or simply someone who likes a great story told well, this is a genuinely good excuse to back two of our own doing remarkable work on stage.
