Aussie Bread Drop: Australian Style Bread in NYC
Fresh Aussie bread is coming back to Manhattan. Our second Bread Drop lands at Isla & Co. in Midtown on Friday, October 23, and orders are open now at aussiebread.com.
What Bread Drop is
Bread Drop is how you get Bakers Delight Australia bread in New York. Over here, Bakers Delight trades as COBS Bread. Same company, same recipes, different name, and the best COBS Bakery is in Stamford, Connecticut. While this is pretty close to NYC, not everyone has the ability to head out to CT on a whim for bread… So we’ve built a simple workaround.
You order online ahead of time at aussiebread.com, and COBS bakes everything fresh in Stamford on the morning of the drop. Our friends from Airtasker drive it into the city, and I hand it to you in person during a two-hour collection window.
It’s not a delivery service and it’s not a shop. It’s a pop-up pickup, and every order is baked for the person collecting it.
What you can order
The full range of 31 products comes to every drop, so nothing sells out on the day. Loaves come pre-sliced.
A few favorites:
- Cape® Seed Loaf, $9.50
- White Loaf, $6.95
- Cheesymite Scroll, $5.50
- Cheese & Ham Bun, $4.45
- Cinnamon Scone, $3.75
If you’ve never introduced an American colleague to a Cheesymite Scroll, this is your chance.
Order by Tuesday, October 20
Orders close at 11:00am ET on Tuesday, October 20. That’s when the bakery gets its numbers, so we can’t take orders or make changes after that.
Collection runs from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Friday, October 23, at Isla & Co. on West 38th Street. It’s a fitting spot for it, too: Isla & Co. is an Australian-inspired cafe founded by a Perth-born owner, so you’ll be picking up your Cheesymite Scrolls in very good company.
Please make sure you can get there inside the window. The bread is baked specifically for your order, so uncollected orders can’t be refunded.
