Black Friday is almost upon us folks, and this year they say it's going to be bigger than ever on the travel deal front. Airlines will all have their deals launched on the Friday – and many OTA (online travel agents) will as well.

We are so lucky to have so many great deals at our fingertips, and with so many travel options.
To put travel spend into a historical context, according to a study by Compass Lexecon, in 1941 the average price for a flight from LA to Boston was $4539.24 in today's money. The average today is $480. People used to save for months and sometimes years for a flight. Today we can find a flight to another continent for under $500!
