Introducing State Champions

You may have seen my Neighborhood Champions, and with the great response I got I thought it was time to zoom out to State Champions. What’s a State Champion? A State Champion is one (or a few for the more densely populated states) representative(s) from each state across the US who is my go-to for stately information and advice.

With the Buddy System up and running I wanted to roll on into my next phase. The Buddy system relies on lots of separate 1:1 relationships which is wonderful for depth, but when you move somewhere it’s also handy to just have someone you can refer to as a go-to for that place.

We’re all busy people so I’m not looking for a huge commitment from anyone, don’t worry!

Here’s my plan: We’ll set up a welcome from State Champions to send automatically when someone joins America Josh and says they are moving (or live in) your State. This automatic email will contain some stately advice from you and we’ll work through ways together to answer questions for people who are moving to your state.

In some cases that might just be questions like: “What is the local big-box store for buying hammers?” and in other cases, they might be looking for nightlife tips or advice surrounding the current lockdowns and limitations. In some cases that can be country-wide but I’m noticing the more I speak to people, that each state is so different that it’s important to get the inside word from a local.

This will, over time, turn into something that will create meetup opportunities and more, but for now, it will just be a friendly person who lives nearby!
