Welcome to the best things to do in New York City, and the best places to visit in NYC!

Restaurant of the week

Are you a vegan? I'm not, but since I've been here in New York I've been to some fantastic venues that serve vegetarian and vegan food. So much so that I'm happy to even recommend one!

The Butcher's Daughter is delicious. You should try it. Even if you're not vegan. There, I said it.

Bar of the week

This week we went to a little bar on the way home from brunch, and the bartender was such a legend that I thought it deserved a shout out.

The Queen Vic is a dive bar that has a great selection of music and PBRs are $3! What a magical place.

Thing-to-do of the week

On Monday night I went to a stand-up comedy show at the Gotham Comedy Club and it was hilarious.

So that's my tip for this week, go see a comedy show! They're cheap, there's generally a two-drink minimum (you have to buy two alcoholic drinks), and you'll have a great week-night!

Local tip of the week

This tip comes to you straight from the mouth of the nice man driving the truck that almost hit me this morning:

GET OFF THE ROAD, YOU IDIOT!

I think he was using the road as a metaphor and was implying that sometimes we should all take a moment, get off “the road” and enjoy life.

So take a moment today and relax. Take a deep breath. Enjoy your day.

Give back $3/month

Welcome, Friend, and thank you for being a part of our community! Your $3/month will help keep the lights on (both literally and figuratively) so I can keep writing for free! Find out more
