How you can help a charity for free by just shopping on Amazon in 2024

❤️ Did you find this article helpful? We do this for free, but $3/month from you would make all the difference.

Amazon is a behemoth, we all know that (and there are lots of feelings about that too). The one thing you learn quickly when you move to the US is that they can solve all of your worldly problems at the click of a button and a subscription to Amazon Prime. But did you know you can use it to help a charity through their program Amazon Prime as well? For no cost to you!?

How you can help charity through AmazonSmile

So how can you help charity? It's really quite easy: Go to https://smile.amazon.com/ whenever you use Amazon.

It's as simple as that.

When you get there, you'll see the same Amazon site you always have, but this time you get to pick which charity you'd like a percentage of eligible purchases to go to.

When you make a purchase on Amazon in the future, and you go to AmazonSmile, without costing you even a cent extra, you can have Amazon send a little bit to a charity of your choice. Lots of purchases, with lots of people, leads to so much “free” money for that charity! Everyone wins!

Which charity should you support on AmazonSmile?

If you don't know any charities here, or want to help out a great charity that helps children in New York (and that I'm the President of), please select Variety – the Children's Charity of New York. Every little bit helps and by doing this we receive a teeny tiny amount of money every time you make a purchase.

Remove all the links you have back to Amazon.com and change it to Smile.Amazon.com. It costs you nothing but could make a HUGE difference in the lives of those around you.

Also, what's Amazon Prime Day?

Prime Day is approaching and arrives on around July 16. For those of you who don't know, Prime Day is Amazon's biggest shopping day (and a half) of the year where they discount all sorts of their own (and others') products. If you're looking to buy a gadget or something that you've been holding out for, it's going to be worth the wait in many cases.

To make sure you're getting a good deal, check out CamelCamelCamel, the site that tracks Amazon price histories, which can also notify you when Amazon products go on sale!

Be sure to install the app “Honey” (it’s free) in your browser before you start online shopping. On Amazon, it will also tell you if it’s found a better deal on Amazon.

Give back $3/month
