The 4 Musicals You Should See on Broadway If You Can Only Pick One

❤️ Did you find this article helpful? We do this for free, but $3/month from you would make all the difference.

You've arrived in New York City, whether you're staying here for a long time or a short time, you're going to probably want to see a Broadway Show… But which one!? If you feel like a musical on Broadway, here's my top list for shows you should see first.

Let's get straight to it, and then tips on how to buy cheap tickets are at the bottom!

4. The Lion King

This show is fun, it feels like you're part of the movie, and at the same time, it feels like it took the movie and grew it a little just for the stage. There are some new songs that you'll like, and your old favorites are all there, too.

Good for all ages!

To find out how to get cheap tickets, keep scrolling! Oh I just can't wait, for you to seeeee….

3. Wicked

This one's a staple and everyone tells me that I have to include it! “Discover the untold true story of the witches of Oz” tells you enough about what goes on in this theatre.

Still fun for kids if they can keep up with what's going on, but that's your call.

Cheap tickets, further down. Wicked!

2. Come from Away

This one you might not have heard of, but I can't recommend it any more highly (#2 is very good in this list)! It's the story of so many people whose flights got diverted on September 11, 2001, and how they ended up in New Foundland.

Sure, that description sounds pretty “meh” but the story will make you cry (you cry, I didn't cry, it just got dusty in the theatre while we were watching), laugh out loud, and you'll be humming the damn songs the whole way home.

Probably not great for a younger audience simply because they won't know what's really going on.

You won't get lost finding your cheap tickets further down.

1. Dear Evan Hansen

My girlfriend very kindly got me tickets to this MONTHS AGO, and I haven't stopped listening to the damn music since.

It's so good. The story is amazing, the music is incredible, the singing is awesome.

This cleaned up at the Tony Awards and I want to see it again. I don't see things again. That's how good it is.

Again, like Come From Away, I'd recommend this for an older audience as there are some adult themes!

Cheap tickets? They will be found.
