Looking for a great volunteer opportunity?

Looking for a great volunteer opportunity? Ads Up, the Aussie refugee network, is looking for volunteers to meet with newly arrived refugees!

You may have heard about the refugee swap deal signed between the US and Aus, which allows 1250 refugees to be moved off Manus Island and Nauru to be resettled in the US. Those refugees have now started arriving, and they're looking for friends! Ads Up connects Aussies in the US with these new arrivals to provide a friendly face, some support, and a bit of guidance in their new city.

In particular, Ads Up is looking for volunteers in:

  • Buffalo;
  • Worcester;
  • Elizabeth;
  • San Antonio;
  • Knoxville;
  • Tampa;
  • Atlanta;
  • Modesto;
  • Milwaukee; and
  • Omaha!

but all Aussies are invited to join our network, and Ads Up volunteers will reach out if and when a refugee arrives in your city.

Your involvement as a volunteer is up to you, but you might grab a coffee together, visit a museum, take a walk around the city, or help out with paperwork. Sign up here, or email [email protected] for more info.

Do something good. Give something back.
