How to schedule and pay for a US Visa Appointment (complete list of booking pages for every location)

Navigating the process of securing a U.S. visa can be daunting, especially when it comes to finding and paying for a visa appointment. Whether you're applying for a tourist, business, student, or other types of visa, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you find and pay for your U.S. visa appointment online and a complete list of all the URLs for where to book an appointment.

Step 1: Complete the Online Visa Application

  1. Fill Out Form DS-160: For most non-immigrant visas including E-3 and B-1/2, you need to complete the Online Non-immigrant Visa Application, Form DS-160. Fill it out accurately and submit it online. Remember to save your application ID and the confirmation page, as you'll need them later in the process.
  2. Prepare Required Documentation: Gather all necessary documentation, including your passport, travel itinerary, and any other documents pertinent to your visa category.

Step 2: Create a Profile on the Visa Appointment Website

  1. Visit the Appointment Website: The appointment websites are listed at the bottom of this page and vary depend on where you want to go for your appointment and you'll find reviews for these locations here. Once you've selected a location, you won't be able to easily change it and you can't switch between locations without paying for appointments at each location. So plan ahead, read reviews, and join our community to discuss the latest options in our private groups.
  2. Create a User Profile: Register for an account on the visa appointment website. You’ll need to provide basic personal information and details from your DS-160 confirmation page.

Step 3: Pay the Visa Application Fee

  1. Check the Fee Amount: Visa application fees vary based on visa type. Check the current fee on the U.S. Department of State’s website or the embassy/consulate’s site.
  2. Select a Payment Method: Payment methods can include bank transfer, online payment, or cash at designated banks, depending on the location. Follow the instructions specific to the U.S. embassy or consulate where you're applying.
  3. Keep the Receipt: After paying the fee, save the receipt. You will need to enter the receipt number in your account to schedule your appointment.

Step 4: Schedule Your Visa Appointment

  1. Login and choose an Appointment Date: Once you've logged in and paid, you will be able to see the upcoming appointments. If there are none available, it's likely that they have exhausted their allocation and you should keep checking back as people cancel and as the location releases more. All consulats are unique in how they release appointments and some only release a few weeks ahead of time.

    Wish I realised this page existed before I flitted all around the internet, trying to find the earliest appointment available, at an embassy not too far away! 🤣
    I’m a classroom music teacher in Charlotte, NC, hourly pay, no benefits, so funds are pretty tight for me. Current visa expires 17 April. 😬
    Found an appointment in Kingston, Jamaica, for my E-3 renewal, 15 April! Woohoo! Seven days! 🫣
    I was going to apply for an extension through USCIS, via a I-179, but the new price (April 1) made me change my mind. If I’m paying over $1000, I may as well turn it into a holiday and new experience. Plus, with my mum’s ill health, I wanted to be able to travel freely in and out of the US, without worrying about visa renewal while I’m back in Oz. 🤷🏻‍♀️
