We are pleased to invite you to the opening of Makinti Napanangka: The Embodied Archive, our first exhibition for 2026 at D’Lan Contemporary in New York.
This solo presentation brings together a focused group of works spanning three distinct phases of Makinti Napanangka’s late career, affirming her position as one of the most influential artists of the Western Desert.
The opening coincides with the first week of Grey Art Museum at NYU’s exhibition Irrititja Kuwarri Tjungu: Contemporary Aboriginal Painting from the Australian Desert, marking a significant moment for contemporary Aboriginal art in New York.
