❤️ Did you find this article helpful? We do this for free, but $3/month from you would make all the difference.

Every week I try to visit some new venues and tell you about the best ones. So where has Josh been this week?

Restaurant of the week

Looking for a nice place before a Broadway Show? Well, this week I saw The Lion King (holy moly it was great) and this one is lovely!

DB Bistro Moderne is a fantastic spot for a quick but delicious bite. They're all setup for the pre-show crowd so will ask as soon as you arrive what time you need to be out. You'll find lots of these places in the city but this one is actually tasty AND fast.

I can recommend the pasta and the fish!

Bar of the week

I REALLY like this week's little hole in the wall bar.

Post is a cool little spot that you would miss if you weren't looking for it. If you're looking to take some friends to a bar that makes you feel like a real local, this is your best bet. With a fantastic array of specials, sitting in the window drinking a cocktail is the PERFECT way to spend a lazy afternoon!

Insider tips of the week

Every week, at Dinner with New Friends, I ask the group: “Do you have one super tip that you'd love to pass on to everyone in New York City?” Here goes the second round!:

Brandy's Piano Bar on the Upper East side is a must do experience” – Barrie K.”Try Lui’s Thai food in the EV!” – Franchesca G.

“Walk as much as you can, it's the best way to learn your way around” – James L.

“Rollerskating Friday nights in Prospect Park!” – Stella S.

“Just move here get the monthly subway pass – saves so much money :)” – Eileen C.

“If you're under 25 years old, you can get a $25 gym membership to NYC-gov recreational centers across all all boroughs ” – Lizzy G.

Levain cookies are amazing!” – Sasha R.

“If your train carriage is hot or stinky, move to another one at the next station. A/C breaks all the time but it's separate in each carriage and the next one is normally a winner!” – Josh P.
