If you've got kids and are looking for something for them to do in New York throughout the fall, then I'm excited to let you know that there are AFL Clinics starting on September 23 with all-round legend James! Clinics are hosted in Central Park in Manhattan.

James, an Aussie ex-pat, runs the clinics in New York on the weekends and is headed into his 4th season! The Fall season is starting on Saturday September 23rd and will run over 10 weekends.

  • Clinics are on Saturday mornings at Central Park (East Side near 70th St).
  • Two sessions are run on Saturday mornings:
    • 9:30-10:30am for 8-15 year olds: Sessions are more focused on AFL technique and skills followed by non-contact footy games and gameplay like drills. So great for older kids looking to keep their footy skills alive and for newcomers learning the game.
    • 10:30-11:30am for 3-7 year olds: Consists of more familizariation with the AFL ball and footy based childrens games like scarecrow tiggy, duck duck goose etc. all with the a footy worked in! So perfect for getting out and active, having fun and getting familiar with the weird AFL footy shape!

Fall season runs between September 23 – December 9 and there are no sessions around the long weekends.

Kids also get free Footy Packs when they sign up and adults get some free cocktail and coffee cards from New York Junior Footy sponsors Isla and Co + Hole in the Wall!

You can join James' New York Junior AFL Facebook group for more info and to get the announcements of the sessions each week and you can follow James on Instagram as well @nycjuniorafl

Any skill, any age, any gender absolutely any background at all, it doesn't matter. The main thing is that kids are outside, running around and getting to handle a footy!

See you out there!
